About Us

The Saint Louis Area Health Lawyers Association (SLAHLA) is a Missouri nonprofit corporation which provides quality continuing legal education programs for lawyers whose practices touch on a wide variety of areas related to health law and regulation. The current iteration of the group began in April, 1995. SLAHLA provides monthly programs, typically offering a total of up to ten CLE credits annually, including ethics credits. With some exception, meetings are generally held at midday on the first Friday of the month, from September through May. Meetings convene at the offices of Lewis Rice, 600 Washington Avenue, 25th Floor, St. Louis, Missouri 63101, preceded by an informal luncheon.  However, all meetings during the Covid-19 pandemic are conducted virtually.  Presenters include experts on the subject matter and come from government, professional associations, practice in law firms, in-house counsel and academia. In a typical year, approximately a third of the presenters come from outside the St. Louis area. Attendance at SLAHLA programs ranges from 30-90, depending upon the level of interest in the topic presented.
